En person vanner planter i et varmt miljø

La Casa vises som en del av ESCENA Oslo Ibero-Amerikanske Filmdager, en plattform for kulturell utveksling mellom Norge og den ibero-amerikanske regionen.

Álex Montoya's brilliant third film brought the Malaga Film Festival to tears with a story based on the Eisner-Winning graphic novel of the same title by artist Paco Roca.

Three siblings - played by the award-winning Spanish actor David Verdaguez, Lorena López and Óscar de la Fuente – gather after the death of their father to discuss whether to sell the house where they used to spend so many summers or if one of them wants to keep it. The events of the weekend will spark the memories of their relationship with their father and with each other. The film captures the uneasy yet comforting sensation of returning home.

The empathy evoked by the characters, as well as a delicate and sensitive use of music and the camera lens highlight identifiable sad, emotional and complex moments in their family relationships that will powerfully resonate with the audience. The writer and the director make the story both deeply personal and strangely universal.

The aesthetic and tonal fidelity of the film allows comic book fans to enter the film without resistance, while permitting some adjustments to translate the story to film.

The film will be accompanied by a video presentation by film director Alex Montoya.
