The Art of Film & TV Editing: Episodic Storytelling
A two-day editing symposium that offers a unique opportunity to gain insights from the editors behind critically acclaimed series like Babylon Berlin, The Crown, and Exit and Families Like Us, the highly anticipated upcoming series by Bafta award winner Thomas Vinterberg. Dive with us into the complex narratives, stylistic choices, and innovative techniques that define these award-winning dramas.
Join us for a weekend of inspiration at Vega Scene from November 30th to December 1st!
Through four masterclasses and a roundtable discussion with ten editors from Norway, the UK, Denmark and Germany, this symposium will provide audiences with a rare peak behind the curtain of how the world's biggest television shows are created in the editing room. Ever wondered how a complex narrative is successfully told over an episodic season of television? Here is your opportunity to get insider secrets on both the small craft details and the big story decisions that go into making a hit television show. This symposium is perfect for not only professional and aspiring filmmakers, but also anyone interested in how to effectively communicate a story to an audience.
The entire program will be in English.
The program focuses on four award-winning series:
Babylon Berlin (European Film Awards, multiple German Television Awards, including for best editing) with Alexander Berner (“Cloud Atlas”), Antje Zynga (“Home”), and Claus Wehlisch (“The Sheikh”).
Exit (multiple Gullruten, including best editing) with Simen Gengenbach ("Behind Her Eyes").
Families Like Ours (coming out this autumn)with award-winning editors Anne Østerud and Janus Billeskov Jansen. It is directed by Thomas Vinterberg. Both editors have collaborated before with Vinterberg on “The Hunt” and “Another Round”.
